Passive Voice w/ GET

The passive voice can also be used with GET.  It has two distinguishing features:

1) It is used more in conversation than in writing.

2) it usually is followed by a verb that expresses something negative.

Verbs commonly used with GET:

hit, robbed, beat-up, divorced, married, fired, impeached, arrested, killed, burned, carried away
